Sister Trudi Turner
About me
Foremost, I am a wife and a mother to two beautiful, busy little boys. Second to that, I am a registered nurse with vast experience in babies and toddlers. Over the years I have recognized that, despite having a qualification as a registered nurse – which in my experience encompasses the care of promotion of health for babies and families – I have an absolute passion to nurture; in particular caring for and encouraging the healthy development of babies and supporting parents through parenthood.
I have had 14 years’ experience as a registered nurse in the Neonatal ICU, which has contributed not only to an understanding of the need for diligence in a professional role, but also the importance of an emphasis on the relationships I build with parents. I place a high value on honest and open communication channels, offering advice on breastfeeding, bottle feeding, baby routine, weaning and vaccination to best suit the family’s needs and dynamics. Over the years I have built a good relationship with healthcare providers in the area (renowned pediatrician Professor Fourie), placing me in a good position to recommend additional care when necessary.
Here at my clinic the focus is on ensuring babies are given an opportunity to reach an optimum level of health and development, combined with support for mothers (and fathers, for that matter) in this journey of parenthood – which can be both the happiest times of one’s life yet the most daunting. Please contact me directly to book your appointment, I would love for us to meet.
